FOAID Festival: Bringing the Architecture Community Together
FOAID stands for the Festival of Architecture and Interior Designing. Since 2014, it has provided a platform for the architecture and design community to share ideas, discover new work and engage with professionals across different disciplines.
The festival brings together conferences, exhibitions, competitions and interactive platforms, offering visitors different ways to engage with the industry. This combination makes FOAID relevant to established professionals, emerging designers and students interested in the changing landscape of architecture and interior design.
Architecture Conference: Ideas, Conversations & Industry Insights
At the heart of FOAID’s conference programme is Specta Design Manthan, which brings architects, designers and industry experts together through presentations, panel discussions, debates and interactive conversations. The current programme features 150+ national and international speakers across 20 sessions, creating opportunities to explore different perspectives on architecture and design.
For professionals looking for an architecture conference in India, Design Manthan offers more than presentations about completed projects. It encourages discussions around design approaches, professional experiences and emerging ideas, helping attendees understand the thinking behind the spaces and structures shaping the built environment.
Architecture Exhibition: Discover the Design Arena
The Design Arena brings architecture and interior design projects, products, materials and installations into a shared exhibition space. Featuring 200+ projects in the current programme, it showcases a range of creative approaches, from built and ongoing work to concepts that explore new possibilities in design.
For visitors exploring an architecture exhibition in India, Design Arena offers an opportunity to discover innovative products, interact with participating brands and examine different design ideas up close. It also creates a meeting point between the professionals developing spaces and the brands providing materials, technologies and solutions for them.

Architecture Competition: Celebrating Emerging Design Talent
FOAID’s competition platforms give architects, designers and students opportunities to present their ideas and creative work. VOX Architecture Ideas provides a platform for young architects and designers to showcase their concepts, participate in live presentations and engage with a professional jury, bringing emerging talent into conversation with established industry voices.
Other platforms include ICA Creative Minds Next, which showcases conceptual and ongoing architecture and interior design projects, and Expressions, a student art installation competition. The 2026 Expressions theme, METAMORPHOSIS (Designing Through Transformation), encourages participants to explore transformation through handmade and functional art, craft and installations.
Design Karyashala: Connecting Students with Industry Experts
Design Karyashala creates space for students to learn through direct interaction with experienced architects and designers. Its “Uncensored – Straight from the Heart” segment encourages open conversations, allowing students to ask questions and gain perspectives on professional practice, creative decisions and the realities of working in the design industry.
This interaction helps connect academic learning with practical experience. For architecture and interior design students, it is an opportunity to hear different professional viewpoints, question familiar assumptions and better understand the journey from design education to professional practice.
Design Awards and Creative Platforms at FOAID
Recognition is another part of FOAID’s programme. The LiDAI Lighting Awards celebrates excellence in lighting design and supports the visibility of lighting-design talent in India, while the festival’s competition platforms recognise creative thinking across architecture, interiors and installation-based work.
Beyond awards, Art Arena explores the relationship between art and architecture through curated artworks, while the Design Arena presents projects and installations from the wider design community. Together, these platforms offer visitors a broader perspective on the role of creativity, craftsmanship and innovation across the design industry.
