Home of the Urban Nomad is a 6,000 sq.ft. penthouse in Noida that redefines luxury living by weaving together stories of heritage, wanderlust, and modern Indian minimalism. Designed by Navya And A Quarter, a boutique interior design studio known for its artisanal approach and thoughtful material palette, the residence reflects a deep, intuitive collaboration between designer and client.
The home belongs to fashion designer duo Hemant and Nandita, whose creative energy and love for Indian heritage shaped every detail of the design. Rather than starting with a rigid brief, the project unfolded over breakfast meetings and road trips—allowing the design language to grow organically from the way the family lives, entertains, and relaxes.

Old Meets New in a Modern Indian Penthouse
Spanning two floors, the lower level of the penthouse hosts the public zones—living room, dining space, kitchen, and two distinctly styled guest bedrooms—while the upper floor is a private sanctuary with the master suite, children’s rooms, study, and a cozy lounge. From reconfiguring the floor plan to relocating bathrooms and optimizing natural light, every element was rethought to create intuitive flow and spatial harmony.

Navya And A Quarter brings their signature design philosophy to the fore: timeless materials, layered textures, and an intentional absence of excess. Traditional Indian elements are subtly integrated through terrazzo, lime-wash walls, and handcrafted floor tiles. Each space feels lived-in yet curated—evident in the family’s collection of artisanal lighting in cane, brass, and beadwork, and furniture sourced from Gulmohar Lane, Dtale Modern, and other local makers.
A Palette That Tells a Story
The material and color language of the home is tied to Hemant and Nandita’s own brand aesthetics—soft, breathable, natural. Brighter, playful hues characterize the children’s spaces, while moodier tones bring depth to the lounge and master suite. The result is a layered, lived-in warmth that’s rare in contemporary urban homes.

Furniture and decor were curated with intention—nothing excessive, but everything expressive. A striking concrete dining table anchors the family space, while a sleeper wood console nods to heirloom craftsmanship. Smart automation and modern conveniences are seamlessly embedded into the home without interrupting its organic charm.
