The Alluring Lobby at Connplex Cinema Theatre in Ahilyanagar is more than a transitional space—it’s a destination in itself. Conceived by the visionary architects at Tres Atelier, this stunning cinema lobby brings the poetic beauty of the Pemgiri Banyan Tree—Asia’s largest banyan tree—into the heart of a contemporary entertainment venue.
Inspired by the banyan’s sprawling canopy and communal essence, the lobby transforms the moviegoing experience into a tactile celebration of nature and leisure. Subtle gradients of deep blue wash across the interiors, while a statement chandelier made of sculptural pipes crowns the space, symbolizing the aerial roots and dramatic branches of its natural muse.

The food and beverage area is thoughtfully designed as a katta—an informal gathering spot beneath the “tree” of chandeliers—where people can socialize before or after their show. The material palette balances luxury with comfort: matte and glossy surfaces complement one another, while the use of natural textures grounds the ambience in warmth.

Tres Atelier, co-founded by architects Suchit Mutha and Mandar Khele, is a multidisciplinary firm known for embedding storytelling into space-making. Their design philosophy merges architectural innovation with cultural reverence, often drawing from nature and regional heritage to shape modern-day experiences. The studio’s ability to elevate even functional zones into immersive environments is evident in every element of The Alluring Lobby.
This project is not just a lobby—it’s a sensory experience that invites reflection, pause, and a deeper appreciation for how design can nurture human connection and cultural memory.
