Nestled in the bustling city of Coimbatore, JADE is an 880 sq. ft. apartment interior project that beautifully redefines small-space living with grace, texture, and restraint. Crafted by Studio SAP (Studio Space for Architectural Practice), the project is a quiet triumph of minimalism and regional sensitivity, reflecting the studio’s design philosophy rooted in simplicity, functionality, and elegant detailing.

Led by architect Kannan Balasubramanian, the design brief came from a family of three who desired a fully designed 2BHK home to support their son’s education journey. The result is a living space that harmonizes earthy tones, curated materials, and thoughtful spatial organization—all within a compact footprint.

From the moment you step into JADE, the palette of beige, sage green, and wood accents offers a calming experience. The living area features Italian suede-finished sofas sourced from HTL Singapore and a bespoke coffee table that echoes the fluted design language repeated across the home. These rhythmic textures subtly unify various zones, ensuring that the space feels cohesive yet full of character.

A key highlight of the apartment is the open-plan living and dining area, anchored by a custom walnut wood dining table paired with sage green upholstered chairs. A strategically designed crockery unit adds vibrancy while seamlessly tying into the dining narrative, showcasing Studio SAP’s ability to balance minimalism with rich visual experiences.

The bedrooms continue the same sophisticated design ethos. Fluted green headboards create a striking focal point, while beige wardrobes and Memuraa wallpapers lend a soft, immersive touch. The space is visually extended by clever use of materials and finishes that emphasize openness and ease.

In the kitchen, sage green cabinetry is offset by a clean black hob and white accents, proving that minimalist kitchen design can still be expressive and bold.
